Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), on Friday released the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results, stirring jubilations in the country, as well as uncertainties about what’s next..
As a standard, public universities require two principle passes at UACE, at least, for admission to Degree programmes and one principle as the minimum to a number of diploma programmes. On the other hand, private universities could as well accept a single principle pass for direct undergraduate admission.
As has always been, public universities set specific cut off points known to many as ‘weights’ on different academic programmes, which sum up from the applicant’s performance at both O’level and A’level.
Following the release of the admission lists for each academic year, Makerere and Kyambogo Universities subsequently provide lists indicating cut off points for both Direct Entry Scheme and government sponsorship.
